Uncharted 4 Review (Minor Spoilers)

Hello fans, I am so sorry for the time in between reviews. My time has been wiped out recently, so I haven't gotten time to write much. I have recently beaten Uncharted 4, ending the mainline series, and I am here with my review today for you readers. The spoilers will be from the first two(ish) hours of the game, and this game is much longer than that so you have been warned.

PLOT: Nathan Drake has settled down with his wife, Elena, to live a normal life and die as a normal person would. He has a job with Jameson Marine, diving for salvage. He doesn't live outside of normal expectations for an adult in this time. Suddenly, his brother, long believed to be dead, arrives at Jameson Marine to talk with Nathan Drake. He says he found a lead on Henry Avery's long lost treasure, and he needs it to pay a debt to the man who broke him out. Thus, Nathan Drake is pulled out of treasure hunting retirement, and is dragged into one final adventure. The adventure throughout is what you would expect out of a game like these, but different enough that you still have the urge to continue on with the game. It isn't as dark as other games in the past, but more like Uncharted 1, where the whole game was crazy. The entire story is amazing, and I never would have expected a game this big to not have major or minor flaws in its story.

MECHANICS: This game has the same mechanics as the previous titles, except it includes the rope and sometimes the car winch. The rope is very fun to swing around and isn't overused at all. It is used 1-3 times in a whole chapter, excluding a few, and is definitely polished. The combat and climbing still feels the same, and so is the walking. All of the controls have crossed over too, and really lets it feel like an Uncharted game.

CHARACTERS: The cast is small: Nate, Elena, Sam, Sully, Rafe, and Nadine. Each one of them is well shaped throughout the game. No one seems like a true hero or villain, although protagonists and antagonists are easily distinguishable. Over the course of the game, you will become invested with characters you have already met, but the villains aren't necessarily villains. They seek the same thing that you do, and all of you are already crossing the line of legality. However, it is a race to the finish line, and thus they are your enemies. Everyone is an amazing piece to the game, and any scene or line of theirs is so interesting and well done. You wont find any bad voice acting here.

CONTENT: This is a lengthy Uncharted game. I played the whole game finding treasures as I went. I would explore the area before continuing, but I did not get everything. The game's 22 chapters took me about 20 hours to get through, unlike the other games that had the same amount of chapters but took about half of that time. As a video game, it is short but as an Action Adventure game it is of standard length. You can approach it without worrying about never getting to see an ending.

FINAL RATING:
